Dear Comrade!

I received your letter and replied by telegram.

To avoid any misunderstandings, I am adding a few more details. The matter concerns an open lecture ("Stolypin and the Revolution") with payment going to the benefit of *Rabochaya Gazeta* (of course, it is unnecessary or in any case not obligatory to write in the announcements whose benefit the collection is for)56. The bureau of the meeting (or the chairman) must necessarily be from local figures, by no means "elected" (to avoid the quarrels and scandals that the liquidators are so fond of).

I agree to a discussion with party members (Plekhanovists), but not with the Golosists.

It is best to limit the discussion to local figures.

I hope to arrive on Thursday; if I have time, I will send a telegram about my time of arrival.

Please be so kind as to forward this letter immediately to Gorin [M. Gorine. Rue du Pont Neuf. 2. (Chez M-me Vire) Geneva], so that he can take measures to arrange a similar lecture on Saturday in Geneva and reply to me through you by Thursday.

Yours, Lenin

For the literature for the lecture I ask you to gather for me (.) a set of *Tsirkulyar Otvetstvennosti*, (.) *Dve Partii*, (.) *Dnevnik*, (.) *Arkomed*57.
