LETTER TO L.B. KAMENEV

8 (21) September 1911

Mr. Rosenfeld

Pension de la Colline. Chailly sur Clarens. Suisse.

Dear Lev Borisovich, On Saturday, the 23rd, I will be in Zurich at 2 p.m.: a meeting of the International Socialist Bureau.

Perhaps it would be possible to meet with your "citoyen Incognito"1*. Let him write to me immediately at the following address (Herrn Lenin. Mitglied der Internationale Sozialistische Bureau. Zurich. Volkshaus)2* so that the letter (or telegram) arrives in Zurich on Saturday. Let him give me his address for a reply or telephone number.

I heard that you will be in Paris on Monday. Is this correct?

I think I will not stay in Zurich for more than 2-3 days.

Au revoir, Yours, Lenin

Fund 2, op. 1, file 2764 — autograph, verified with a copy by L.B. Kamenev — f. 323, op. 2, file 150, p. 38.

1* "Citizen incognito" (French).

2* (To Mr. Lenin, member of the International Socialist Bureau. Zurich. People's House)

1 The identity of the person V.I. Lenin was supposed to meet could not be established. According to a letter from Lenin to L.B. Kamenev on 24 September (7 October) 1911, it refers to a person who had undergone surgery for Basedow's disease. This condition was suffered by N.K. Krupskaya (see doc. 41).

10-11 (23-24) September 1911. Lenin was in Zurich (Switzerland), participating in a meeting of the International Socialist Bureau.
