...Menshevik Party members. On the contrary, the Golos group resolutely took a course against unification.

Therefore, not by accidental or personal reasons, an utterly impossible situation has developed within the editorial board of the Central Organ. If now a continuous and hopeless squabble reigns in our editorial board, if we three are decidedly unable to overcome the hostile position of two editors, if all work in the Central Organ is being held up—this is the inevitable result of the falseness of the situation. According to the meaning of the Plenum's decisions, rapprochement is necessary with the Menshevik Party members, yet in our Central Organ, anti-party Mensheviks are waging a ruthless struggle against the Menshevik Party members who stand outside the Central Organ and are helping it!

We are fully confident that Comrades in the Central Committee themselves understand the absolute impossibility of such a situation and will not demand from us an illustration of it by the history of countless clashes and scandals in the editorial board. These clashes, accusations, frictions, and the complete breakdown of work are the simple result of the changed political situation, which must inevitably lead to the disintegration of the Central Organ, unless a step is taken prescribed by the entire spirit of the Plenum's decisions, namely: the replacement of the anti-party, liquidationist, Golos Mensheviks by Party Mensheviks, whom we are obliged to help fully enter the Party and its leading institutions.

The Party Mensheviks have already declared in the Foreign Bureau of the Central Committee their desire to have representatives in the editorial board of the Central Organ (and in the Foreign Bureau of the Central Committee), i.e., supporters of Party Menshevism.

We, for our part, declare that we are decidedly unable to conduct the Party's Central Organ in collaboration with the Golos people*, for it is impossible to carry on work exclusively by mechanically outvoting people with whom there is no common Party ground.

We hope that the Central Committee will take the necessary organizational steps to change the composition of the editorial board of the Central Organ and to create a workable Party collegium.
