I personally do not think that your withdrawal from "Pravda" is necessary, while

"Pravda" is conducted so blandly. Having read... [Your] note in No. 11 of "Pravda," I
thought (and Grigory also said): this is harmless, bland, [worthless], verbose...

To what are we now at this moment leading the policy? To the construction of a party nucleus not
on the vulgar phrase of the Trotskyites and Co., but on the actual ideological rapprochement of the Plekhanovites and Bolsheviks. Whether this will work out, I do not know. If it does not work out, - back to the Bolshevik Center. If it works out, - a not insignificant step forward.

We will write to the Russian Central Committee (insisting that Makar convene it, without waiting for
the scoundrels of the Mensheviks) about the expulsion of Dan (and Martov) from the Central Organ, Igor from the Foreign Bureau of the Central Committee and the replacement
of them with Plekhanovites. The Plekhanovites have printed... [about the issue of] "Golos S.-D." (You [should] receive [it] in the next few days 234).
... [53] for the Golosovites, ... against ... 10 ... For the Plekhanovites 11 . . . . . . . . , but the point is not
so much in the number, as in the beginning of the split. A good beginning is half the battle.

The Mensheviks are releasing in the next few days Martynov's reply to Plekhanov and, probably, the reply of the Central
Organ. Although Plekhanov wishes to retain the possibility of "returning" to the Golosovites, but so far, it seems, nothing is working out.

Your withdrawal from "Pravda," in my opinion, - if it is inevitable - must be arranged most carefully (write an article against liquidationism and against "Golos," let
Trotsky refuse!) for a report to the Central Organ and for the preparation of a draft resolution on the publication
of a popular newspaper by the Central Organ. Either this, or back to ................................

The Vienna group will be silent.

Regarding the report, I am not satisfied. This does not mean "to tug" - to remind. Send the beginning. Everything by 1/V - this is late.

I shake your hand. Yours, Lenin
