10. At the end of their statement the authors threaten You that if You do not act according to their will, they will undertake the exposure of matters liquidated by the CC Plenum. And this they promise You to do in defiance of the CC resolution. But this threat is already not an ordinary *fraktioneller Dreck*, as the representative of Latvian Social-Democracy expressed it at the CC Plenum in regard to the smearing of these matters by the Golosists for the sake of factional filth: this is already direct factional blackmail directed at the Foreign Bureau of the CC. And of course, comrades, we leave it to You yourselves to deal worthily with the blackmailers of factional filth.

But we refuse to track down all the falsifications, distortions of facts, and deliberate lies accumulated against us in the statements, complaints, and protests of Martov and Dan. You yourselves, comrades, will undoubtedly be able to sort through all this factional filth, although we do not doubt that it will evoke in You the same natural feeling of revulsion as in us. But we would like in conclusion to draw Your attention to two circumstances.

First. We remind you that the present attempt by the Golosists to disrupt the CC is not the first. In the summer of 1908, when the CC-ist Bolsheviks were arrested, the Golosists made already one such glorious attempt, which was exposed at the CC Plenum (in August 1908). With a proposal to enter into a conspiracy for the disruption of the CC, the Golosists then turned to the comrades from the Bund. But a member of the Bund's CC (comrade E.) informed a member of the Bolshevik CC (comrade G.), who had just come out of prison, and the conspiratorial attempt came to naught. We still have on file a letter from a member of the Bund's CC in which he writes that the ringleaders of the Golosists deny the very *Existenzrecht* (right to existence) of the CC and propose to replace it with some sort of information bureau279. The fact of the Golosist CC-ists' approach to the Bund's CC with such a proposal to betray the party is confirmed also by other comrades from the Bund at the December (1908) conference (see the conference minutes).
