...show that the matter is not one of who wants or does not want to go into the CC, but of who considers the CC and the party unnecessary and harmful.

7. The authors of the statement complain about the rejection of their articles. But all these complaints have only one aim: to artificially create a basis for the existence of "The Voice of the Social-Democrat." With this aim, the authors of the statement boycott the "Discussion Sheet," in which their articles could be placed without hindrance. They consciously sabotage this party publication as well, which was intended to make factional organs superfluous, to give all currents of the party the freedom to express themselves freely in those cases where their views diverge from those of the Central Organ. For example, comrade Martov's article "On the Right Path" we proposed either to place in the Central Organ with an editorial note (since the article fights against the decisions of the CC), or in the "Discussion Sheet." The first was called an accompaniment to the article by a "gendarme," the second — a "relegation." And we were told directly and literally: "now we shall open military operations against you."

8. The authors of the statement complain that we published an article on the conference, allegedly "completely distorting the decisions of the plenum on this question." The meaning of this complaint is as follows: the article in question is in complete solidarity with the CC's letter on the conference,278 and the anti-liquidationist CC letter on the conference does not please the extreme liquidationist — Dan. The article was written by the same comrade who wrote the CC letter.

As for the CC letter, comrade Martov signed it. It was adopted unanimously. To the author of the letter, comrade Martov, while forwarding its proofs, wrote: "I have nothing to object to regarding your text of the letter on the conference." And now, before the liquidationist cock has even crowed thrice, L. Martov hastens (together with Dan) to repudiate the very letter he himself accepted. In the statement from ..., and even now, after the plenum, there is a representative present, waiting to hear when he should go to the CC meetings.

But just a week ago, a Polish CC member received a letter from his colleague in Moscow, from which it follows that he must wait, since the CC is still unable to convene.
