You have sold, according to my instructions, 45 Metro bonds that belong to me. I now request you to sell on my behalf the remainder, that is, all the Metro bonds that you hold for my account. I authorize Mr. Lubimov (7, Rue Campagne Premiere, Paris, XIV) to deliver this letter to you and to provide any information you may need. If Mr. Lubimov demands the sale of other securities on my behalf, I request you to carry out all his orders. Enclosed, I am sending a check for 25,000 francs (twenty-five thousand francs) to Mr. Lubimov.

I kindly request, Sir, that you confirm receipt of this letter to the following address: Mr. Wl. Ulyanov (chez madame Lecreux) Bommont (Seine-et-Marne).

1 The published document is a power of attorney to A.I. Lubimov, the secretary and treasurer of the Bolshevik Center, for the receipt of funds belonging to the Bolshevik Center, which were held in V.I. Lenin's bank account. In the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History (RGASPI), there are also stubs from Lenin's checkbook with receipts signed by Lubimov dated 27 July 1909, for a total amount of 22,500 francs, to be used in August-September 1909 (RGASPI, f. 2, op. 1, file 2483).
