To Anatoly Vasilyevich:¹

Dear Anatoly Vasilyevich! Why are you not sending the article on Ferry? We are waiting—and waiting in vain. Please send it immediately. If, contrary to all hope, it is being delayed, then be sure to drop us a line at once, just a couple of words, so we know how to proceed with No. 22.

Pressing your hand. Your Lenin.

¹ Dating justification: The article on Ferry mentioned in the letter, signed "Voinov" and under the heading "Crisis in the Italian Workers' Party," was published in No. 23 of *Proletarii* of 11 March (27 February) 1908. No. 22 of *Proletarii* came out on 4 March. In order for Lunacharsky's article not to be late for typesetting in No. 22, Lenin's letter from Geneva to Capri, where Lunacharsky was staying at the time (with Gorky), had to have been sent 6-7 days before 4 March; most likely it was sent either on the eve of or a couple of days before the following letter of 27 February, in which Lenin reminds about the article once again.

The letter was probably addressed to Gorky for transmission to Lunacharsky.
