* — "Statement. In some newspapers it could be read that Dr. Semashko, recently arrested in Geneva, was a delegate at Stuttgart from the Geneva group of Russian social-democracy. In refutation of this I declare that Dr. Semashko was not a member of the Russian section at the aforementioned congress and had no delegate mandate. He participated in the congress only in the capacity of a journalist.

L. Martov, delegate of Russian social-democracy at the Stuttgart congress." —Ed.
