Social-democracy cannot permit any reconciliation of labor with capital. It organizes wage laborers for a merciless struggle against capital, for the destruction of private property in the means of production, and for the organization of a socialist society.

The labor parties dream of the destruction of capital's domination, but by virtue of the conditions of life of the petty proprietor, they inevitably vacillate between the struggle against capital, jointly with wage laborers, and the striving to reconcile workers and capitalists by means of transforming all laborers into petty proprietors, equally endowed with land or secured by credit and the like.
