INSERT IN THE SPEECH OF OSIPOV*.
(Exclamation by Tamarin: "I was not speaking of committee members, but of workers fit for the committee")

1 Osipov was Zemlvachka's congress pseudonym at the II and III congresses of the Party. Tamarin was Dzhaparidze, a delegate from the Caucasian Union. At the 19th session on May 5, Dzhaparidze spoke in support of Lenin's resolution on the question of relations between workers and intellectuals in Party organizations. "I am surprised," he said, "when they say that there are no workers capable of being committee members. On the contrary (Lenin: Listen! Listen!) there are so many of them that it is impossible to include them all in the committee... I insist that a resolution be passed" (Protocols, p. 373). The exclamation by Dzhaparidze, following the subsequent words of comrade Zemlvachka: "Comrade Golubín (one of Dzhaparidze's pseudonyms. Ed.) said that in the Caucasus there are so many worker committee members that the committees cannot accommodate them all" (see Protocols, p. 375).
