Dear Comrade! We received your letter and were very glad to have news from you. Congratulations on overcoming the obstacles set up by the famous agents who are appointed to conceal the truth.\(^{37}\) Be sure to take the most energetic measures to establish the most accurate correspondence with us. This is extremely necessary. As soon as correspondence is arranged, we will immediately give you interesting assignments. We are now awaiting the congress. It will open in a few days. The position of the CC and Plekhanov is still not finally clear. It smells as though a split is inevitable. Reply immediately if you want to learn about the congress more accurately and more quickly than anyone else.

I firmly shake your hand. Yours, Lenin, former neighbour on the farm.\(^{38}\) Is that radical peasant* still alive, whom you brought to me? What has he become now? Why do you not give us connections with the peasants?
