Iskra No. 111, editorial "Liberal Betrayals."¹
Sum of the betrayals of the Constitutional-Democrats (Red Cross-boycott.² Universities — for "peaceful renewal"³ etc.). Conclusion: betrayal of the Constitutional-Democrats in the Duma? No.
Denounce the Constitutional-Democrats as traitors in general? No.
They speak and do not speak out.
Last phrases: Those who see in the Duma a "result of a deal"⁴ are mistaken — just like that! And the Stakhoviches? And the praise of the moderation of the Moscow congress in Novoye Vremya? No turn to the right?... but?... a tendency to betrayals.
(A deal is not a betrayal? What confusion!)
{Σ * = a retreat of Iskra, covered by a "rearguard action."
For agreement with the Constitutional-Democrats on conditions of revolutionary obligations? Ni/hi/l **. For elections — when? — how? — together with the Constitutional-Democrats? even without them? Ni/hi/l. Puff and smoke.}
Cf. Sotsial-Demokrat No. 15.⁵ No mention of the full Social-Democratic program.
No clarity on support for the Constitutional-Democrats. They were frightened of liberal trade-unionism *** — it is good that they were frightened of their own tendency. But they did not clearly counterpose their own.
"A congress of workers⁶ or a congress of mutual-aid societies?
A congress of representatives of the working class or a congress of guild members?
To utilise — yes... But by whom — the R.S.D.L.P.

* — sum total, result. Ed.
** — nothing. Ed.
*** The word is not entirely legible. Closest in meaning to the word "trade-unionism." Ed.
