CORRECTIONS TO THE ARTICLE "BOURG. CONCILIATORS AND PROLET. REVOLUTIONARIES" 349
of the FAMOUS "plan"
[of the election campaign] of PARALLEL
ELECTIONS__
... In reality, what could be more absurd and bizarre than this
product of idle
Imagination
[of a revolutionary pedagogue] of pedants- pedagogues... It's no matter that [these elections will end in failure] NOTHING will come OF THESE elections. What's important is not the practical
result, what's important is the exercise itself.
1 The article was intended for No. 23 of "Proletary" of October 31 (18), 1905, but was not published either in this or in the following issues of "Proletary". The author of the article has not been established. Lenin touches on the issue of mixing politics with pedagogy in a separate note (see Works, VII, 307).

Bourgeois CONCILIATORS
AND Proletarian revolutionaries.
... A knowingly falsified consultative assembly is being convened for us,— and already [some revolutionaries]
HAVE FOUND OPPORTUNISTS in social democracy, who are setting aside the question
of preparing for an uprising, focusing their hopes on the Duma
of "Conciliators", [from which the impetus for a nationwide revolution is to come!| Which, if you please, can turn into a "revolutionary
assembly"! The hopes of these unfortunate blind men on the revolutionary
nature of the Duma only cover up the nakedness of their helpless
tactics, in which there is nothing left revolutionary.
