FROM THE EDITOR.
[End of July 1905. Geneva.^
This resolution of the Saratov Committee has just been received by us. We will be very glad to assist in the publication of any S.D. criticism of the resolution of the Third Congress of the R.S.D.L.P. on the attitude towards the peasant movement. We consider the views of the Saratov Committee to be erroneous on this question and will try to return to them as soon as possible. We await clarifications from the Saratov Committee.

In No. 13 of Proletary, dated August 22 (9), 1905, a letter from Dvinka, signed "Worker," was published. The author of the letter dwelt on the decisions of the third congress and, among other things, asked: "1) What role will the provisional government play—will it lead or govern the country, or neither? 2) Under what circumstances is the participation of the proletariat in the provisional government permissible? 3) What is this propaganda and agitation for armed uprising?"

The following reply from the editorial board, printed immediately after the correspondence, was written by Lenin.
The beginning of the manuscript of the reply "From the Editor" is placed at the end of the aforementioned letter from "Worker."
