SOCIALIST BUREAU

Geneva, July 3, 1905.

Dear Comrade!

We have received your letter with notification of the dispatch of 5049 francs 23 centimes to Mr. Plekhanov. The head of our expedition has written to Mr. Plekhanov that we expect half of the aforementioned sum to be sent to our address.

I should like to warn you, dear comrade, that on your part it is an error to send money to Mr. Plekhanov. We have already had the honor of notifying you that since the time of the III Congress of our party, *Iskra* has ceased to be the organ of the party and Mr. Plekhanov is no longer the representative of the party at the International Bureau. We have also had the honor of notifying you that the Central Committee of our party has not yet delegated a special representative to the International Bureau and that in all cases you should address yourself to Mr. Ulyanov.

You advise us to come to an agreement with Mr. Plekhanov. You should be aware that any agreements of our party with Mr. Plekhanov are absolutely impossible before his relations with the party are officially settled. This is why I am obliged to ask you to inform Mr. Plekhanov that half of the sum should be sent to the address of the Central Committee of our party (to Mr. Ulyanov).

Accept, dear comrade, our fraternal greetings!

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party
Vl. Ulyanov (N. Lenin)
