DRAFT AGENDA FOR THE CONGRESS
setting the practical task — of creating an independent
Bolshevik party.
A distinctive feature of these documents is also that they devote special attention to the role of Plekhanov in the party
crisis. Lenin singles out the special path that led Plekhanov to defend the Mensheviks, and states that the maliciousness
of Plekhanov's attacks, the illogicality of his actions, are due to the logic of Plekhanov's false position as a reconciler.
The third of the documents printed below represents a remarkably interesting attempt to link into one whole the entire sum
of resolutions that were to be proposed to the congress.
In his general plan of all the decisions of the congress, Lenin gives, as it were, a
"platform" of Bolshevism, a holistic system of Bolshevik answers to all current (February
4905) questions of the class
struggle and intra-party relations. Resolutions on individual issues are included only as parts in this overall system.
Lenin developed points 4, 2, 5 and 4 of his general plan in four special resolutions, which we print after the general
plan. Changes made to the congress agenda forced a change to the entire scheme of resolutions, but individual parts of Lenin's general
project served as the basis for the corresponding resolutions of the congress. More precise indications of this are given in the notes.
