S. I. GUSEV

25. II. 05.

We have just learned from Lyadov’s letter that the C.C. has agreed to a congress on the 17th. We conjure the Bureau by all that is holy not to trust the C.C. and on no account to yield one iota of its full independence in convening the congress. The Bureau has no right to concede a single jot to the C.C.

Otherwise we shall raise a revolt here, and all the hard committees will be with us. The C.C. is invited to the congress and let it come with the Mensheviks, but we and only we are convening the congress.

On Tuesday (28. II. 05) No. 8 of *Vperyod* comes out, in which the Bureau’s announcement is reprinted with our energetic addition*. For God’s sake, take all measures to forward this letter as quickly as possible to Lyadov, Sysotka, Zemlyachka.

Yours, Lenin
