25. II. 05.

We have just learned from Lyadov's letter that the Central Committee has agreed to the congress on the 17th. We implore the Bureau, by all that is holy, not to trust the Central Committee and not to give up, for anything, a single drop of its complete independence in convening the congress. The Bureau has no right to cede an iota to the Central Committee.

Otherwise we here will raise a revolt, and all the hard-line committees will be with us. The Central Committee is invited to the congress and let it come with the Mensheviks, but it is we and only we who convene the congress.

On Tuesday (28. II. 05) No. 8 of *Vperyod* comes out, in which the Bureau's notice is reprinted with our energetic addition*. For God's sake, take every measure to forward this letter as quickly as possible to Lyadov, Sysoika, Zemlyachka.

Yours, Lenin
