BUREAU OF THE COMMITTEES OF THE MAJORITY

29. I. 05.

Dear friend! I have a great request for you: scold Rakhmetov, please, and scold him thoroughly. After all, by God, he is conducting himself toward us in exactly the same way as the Liberationists or Father Gapon toward the Social-Democrats. I have just reviewed the table of our correspondence with Russia.¹⁰ Gusev has sent 6 letters in 10 days, while Rakhmetov has sent 2 in 30 days. How is that? Not a word, not a peep. Not a single line for *Vperyod*. Not a word about affairs, plans, and connections. This is something impossible, incredible, absolutely unacceptable. In a few days the 4th issue of *Vperyod* comes out, and immediately after it (in a few days) the 5th, and from Rakhmetov there is no support whatsoever. Today letters came from Petersburg dated the 10th, the briefest possible. And no one has organized good and abundant correspondence about the 9th of January!

To my letter to Rakhmetov about correspondence,* there is no reply whatsoever!

Regarding the bureau and the congress** there is also nothing. And how important it is to hurry with the announcement about the bureau and with convening the congress. For God's sake, do not trust the Mensheviks and the Central Committee, and conduct unconditionally, everywhere, and in the most decisive manner a split, a split, and another split. We here, having gotten caught up in the revolution, had united with the Mensheviks at one public meeting, but they duped us and did so shamefully. Whoever does not want to remain a fool, we warn urgently: a split and an unconditional split.
