Unfortunately, I cannot say very much in defense of "Rassvet." Up to now this venture must be admitted to have been not entirely successful. Bonch-Bruevich is an inexperienced man of letters and could have counted on the help of other literary figures in the party. He has not received such help, and under these conditions it is unjust to place the entire responsibility for the failure on him alone. So far only five months have passed since the beginning of publication. It is possible that the organ will yet be able to get on its feet, especially if other literary figures come to its aid. Something has nonetheless been accomplished: connections among the sectarians are expanding both in America and in Russia. Moreover, it should be noted that from a financial point of view this publication does not place a burden on the party, since "Rassvet" is published with separate funds. I consider the closure of "Rassvet" to be premature and propose that the experiment be continued.
