...it turns out, Rakhmetov and his boundless plans turn into a boundless fiction, while the local public simply scatters, concluding in horror that there is no majority and that nothing will come of the majority. The tactics of the minority have become fully clear in their new form: complete ignoring and hushing up of the literature of the majority and the existence of the majority, elimination of polemics from the Central Organ and swaggering about positive work (recently the editorial board of the Central Organ issued in print, though "only for party members," a letter to party organisations about the plan for Social-Democratic participation in the zemstvo campaign: incredible swaggering over incredible vulgarities. Lenin produced an analysis and demolition of this letter*). The majority must come out with its own organ;\(^{301}\) for this, money and correspondence are lacking. We must make a strenuous effort on both, but without the most detailed and circumstantial letters nothing can be put together. Connections are not being passed on, there is no possibility of attacking the same person from different sides, there is no coordination in the work of the mass of Bolsheviks who travel around Russia, setting up one thing and another separately. This disunity is felt in everything; the committees are again falling behind the situation, partly because they do not know the new decisions of the Council (supplement to Nos. 73-74 of *Iskra*, a special leaflet of 10 pages), partly because they do not think them through and do not understand that these decisions amount to the most complete and shameless falsification of the Congress. Now only children can fail to see that the Council and the Central Committee will stop at nothing to wreck the Congress. We must counterpose force = an organ + the organisation of the majority in Russia, or else we must die. Lenin has not yet seen the Frivolous One; it is strange that the Frivolous One has gone off to one side and is adopting a wait-and-see attitude!

So, pass on a triple curse to Rakhmetov and make him, as punishment, write his diary. Why is Mme Rakhmetova not going where she promised? We repeat: everyone and everything will scatter (even Galerka is groaning and sighing), because no connection with Russia is felt, it is not visible that

Rakhmetov lived, worked at the common work, was excited and concerned about it. Without letters there is nothing but complete disunity!!
