[To the Party Council.]

To the Chairman of the Party Council.

14.III.04 [Geneva.]

Dear Comrade! We inform you that, owing to the departure of one of us and a leave of absence taken by the other, we are unfortunately compelled to temporarily resign our posts as members of the Council from the Central Committee. We have informed the Central Committee of this.

With Social-Democratic greetings,

Kurtz

Lenin

1 The dating of this document shows some discrepancy with the previous document, the letter to the Central Committee. In the postscript to the latter it says: "we informed the Council of our resignation in the following form: (full copy)". From this it would appear that the statement to the Council was submitted already on March 13 (the date of the letter to the C.C.), whereas here it is dated March 14. But in all probability this is an accidental discrepancy, and it must be assumed that both statements (to the C.C. and to the Party Council) were made simultaneously.
