the side of our conflict249 through an exchange of statements and, for my part, propose
such a statement.

I have never doubted, nor do I doubt, Martov’s good faith and sincerity. Since Martov states that, upon becoming acquainted with my draft proposal to select two trios and approving this project, he himself has always personally considered it necessary to expand the original editorial trio, I neither doubt myself nor allow any doubts from anyone regarding Martov’s truthfulness. I would be very glad to verify that the accusations he has leveled against me were based on a misunderstanding.

To Potresov’s address (for Dan)

December 2, 1903.

“Dear Comrade! The resolution of the personal conflict between myself and Martov

could be confirmed by appending it to the minutes of the League’s congress. For my part, I would, of course, only welcome this. However, no one has either formal or moral authority to shorten anything in the congress minutes or to remove certain parts of the description of what took place.

With comradely greetings, N. Lenin”
