...in the actual position of de facto editor, despite your resignation, since you say that you understand full freedom of action in such a way that it does not exclude even your handing over the editorship to the Martovites. I am therefore compelled to hand over to you all official communications of the Editorial Board of the Central Organ and all materials, which I am sending you in a separate package. If explanations of any kind regarding the materials are required, I shall, of course, gladly give them.

Some materials have been given to contributors (Lebedev, Schwartz, Ruben), who will have to be told that everything is being handed over to you.

N. Lenin

P.S. Please do not understand the handing over of the editorship in the sense of the notorious boycott.

That would contradict what I directly stated in my declaration to you of November 1 of this year.* I shall, of course, now inform the comrades of my withdrawal from the Editorial Board.

P.P.S. I am sending three packages (tomorrow morning by messenger) – aa, bb, vv – according to the importance of the materials.

Issue No. 52 was supposed to be published on November 16 with an announcement from the Central Committee.** For this, printing must begin on Monday; even Tuesday will do.
