"Rabochiy," etc., followed them, immediately sensing which Iskra members to support from the anti-Iskra perspective. The Bund + the swamp, etc., politically revealed only an organizational and tactical error of Martov.

For those who know all the facts of the congress and especially the distribution of Iskra votes (both at the congress and in the secret organization of "Iskra"), there can be no doubt that there is no going back. The Iskra members have split, and "Iskra" could not exist without the Iskra members. And, I repeat, among the Iskra members, Martov was in an absolute minority, and the split in the party (which Martov is moving towards fatally, more and more each day) will turn out to be a revolt of the minority, both legally and even more so in substance, unjustified.

We do not "tarnish" anyone, neither Martov nor anyone else, for their mistakes, but we call them all to work.

Regarding the "material means" you mentioned, our affairs are indeed not good now, and there is no dispute about that, and the Californian sources* have dried up. But, if necessary, we will endure extreme need, just to prevent the breaking up of many years of work due to dissatisfaction with the composition of the centers (for objectively, this is what "their" dissatisfaction boils down to).

"Do we divide the bucket, or what?"* - you ask. I doubt I could answer this question, as I do not claim impartiality in the "division," and a partial answer would not be useful to you. I am convinced that there are no "fractional parts" at all, but rather a mad attempt to fragment, disperse, and break the whole (to kindle a new hearth, as you put it) because of a defeat on one issue, in which the defeated Iskra members were utterly wrong.

Sincerely, signed by N. K. Krupskaya
