Separate Groups

The Congress expresses its regret at the separate existence of such Social-Democratic groups as the “Borba”, “Zhizn” and “Volya”.{126} Their isolation cannot but cause disorganisation inadmissible in the party, on the one hand, and, on the other, grievous departures from Social-Democratic views and Social-Democratic tactics towards so-called Social-Revolutionism (on the part of “Volya” and partly of “Borba” in its agrarian programme) or towards Christian socialism and anarchism (on the part of “Zhizn”). The Congress expresses the wish that both the groups indicated and all other groups of persons classing themselves as Social-Democrats should join the ranks of a united and organised Russian Social-Democracy. The Congress instructs the Central Committee to gather the necessary information and to adopt a final decision on the place of the indicated and other separate groups within the party or on our Party’s attitude to them.
