The manuscript printed below, representing the original
resolution on the sectarian organ, introduced by Lenin and Plekhanov
at the congress at the 37th session after the adoption of the resolution
on the Bund, as already indicated above (p. 463), was written
at the congress session. This is evidenced by the fact that the resolution is written in a hasty handwriting in pencil
on the back of a note from Bazilenkov (A. S. Lokerman) to the bureau
(presidium) of the congress with a proposal to stop the debate. This
proposal could not relate to the issue of this resolution,
since the text of the resolution with all the signatures, including
A. Bazilenkov's signature, at the moment of discussing the resolution,
was undoubtedly already in the hands of the bureau (presidium) of the congress. So,
the text of the resolution was written at the table of the bureau (presidium
of the congress during the session on the back of a previously submitted note
by A. Bazilenkov. The main author of the resolution is Lenin.
Plekhanov made some minor amendments to the original text and inscribed the title
"Resolution by Lenin and Plekhanov," testifying to Plekhanov's complete solidarity
with Lenin on the issue of the resolution.
The "Resolution of Lenin and Plekhanov" was adopted by the congress
with Martov's amendment. In the "Protocols" of the congress (ed. 1924,
p. 329, footnotes) both the text
of the resolution of Lenin and Plekhanov, submitted for discussion by the congress,
and Martov's accepted amendment are given in full.
We
print this document here, firstly, for the sake of completeness of Lenin's material,
illuminating the work of the congress, and secondly, in view of the fact that this
original text of the resolution, reproduced here with all the peculiarities of the original, presents such differences
from the text reproduced in the protocols, which give a complete
picture of the drafting and passage of this resolution at the congress.
