17. I. 03.

Yesterday we received the "Kievskii S.-D. Listok" No. 1, dated 30 November (sic!) through a third party. It is simply a scandal that our Iskra people are always dragging along in the rear! Why didn't Zarin send this leaflet in a timely manner? Why did he not write a single word about this enterprise? We urgently request that Zarin, for Christ's sake, connect us directly with some member of the committee—someone punctual, active, and knowledgeable about everything that is going on. Every leaflet (from whoever) should be sent immediately to two different addresses in two copies, one in an envelope, the other wrapped in a Russian newspaper. Furthermore, we must immediately establish contact with Vakar. We are very much afraid that the Kiev Iskra people, owing to their passivity and spectatorial attitude, will meet with the fate of Petersburg. And not a word (NB) about the receipt and distribution of literature!! One could scream for help!
