First practical application.

"Kadets" Its (objective) tasks. Cf. Nasha Zhizn 18.IX: to attract the people, to strengthen the people's trust, etc. etc.

Cf. ibid. on the formation of the Kadets and the refutation of Birzhevye Vedomosti.

To destroy this trust or to maintain it on certain "conditions"?

The vacillations of the new Iskra-ists (Parvus, Cherevanin, Martov: "choice of decisive").

Unconditional struggle against the Kadets. "Conciliators." The beginning of betrayal.

Objections: 1) "Absenteeism." Hander. On the contrary, the most active agitation. 2) "Support of the revolutionary bourgeoisie." That depends. In parliament? Yes. In elections by us from conservatives and Kadets? Yes. But now neither one nor the other, because parliamentarism does not yet exist. Struggle for it. Betrayal in the struggle. Real support of the Kadets at the present time is a struggle against the revolutionary uprising. On the street or in parliament? (Cf. Marx on Ledru-Rollin 1849).

Use of legal and semi-legal means? Unconditionally yes. Workers' congress? Yes. Meetings? Yes. But to use something close does not mean to merge, to dissolve. In order to use, one must be independent, integral, united.

The absurdity of the new Iskra-ist tactic: "agreement and support" plus "farce elections as a possible motive for insurrection." There can be a thousand and one pretexts.

No. The tactic now is different: 1) Ruthless struggle against the conciliators of the Kadets. 2) Denunciation of them for having entered the Duma. 3) Development of an independent Social Democratic party through struggle against the Kadets and through agitation on the subject of the State Duma. 4) Preparation for insurrection, which is coming and in which, not in "parliamentarism," now lies the crux of the situation. 5) Use for this preparation, for agitation, of all semi-legal and legal means. 6) Concentration on the slogans: armed insurrection, revolutionary army, provisional revolutionary government.
