156 In the newspaper "Russkiye Vedomosti" no. 210, August 1, 1901, an editorial note was published devoted to discussion of the law of June 8, 1901 "On the Grant of State Lands to Private Persons in Siberia." The note, using examples from Ufa province, provided information confirming the facts of enormous profits for the nobility and the impoverishment and ruin of peasant masses, which were the consequence of the application of the law.
