Belfort-Bax: "A Widespread Error" "One of the most frequent misconceptions that one encounters when discussing issues of imperialism and the new colonial policy, apparently, has penetrated some socialist heads"...
And further, he analyzes the argument of those who support colonial policy because of the progressiveness of capitalism. Bax refutes and х ...
... "Capitalist-national imperialism is the answer that capitalism gives to international social democracy......... World history now faces such a choice — either nationally-capitalist imperialism, or internationally-socialist democracy!"...

(Sic!)...
(Obviously, the usual picture there too: New Yorker Volkszeitung == "orthodox" Kautskyites, and Debs is a revolutionary, but without a clear theory, not a Marxist.)
