I received, dear mother, a letter from Manyasha dated 8. IX,—there was a delay in forwarding this letter to me from Paris. I was very glad to learn that Mitya's affair is being arranged and that he will probably be sent to Yuryev.202 It would be good if he could settle things more quickly! How are Manya's affairs? She writes nothing about this. How is your health? Are you all quite well settled? I am now well—I have been for a long time and have completely recovered from influenza and am working more regularly. The weather here is lovely,—and what is it like with you? I also received books from Manyasha (the "Bulletin officiel")—thank you for them. I am awaiting soon the shipment of a box and money.

I embrace you warmly, my dear, and send greetings to all of ours.

Your V. U.
